From salary to portfolio

The kids are gone, the mortgage is paid - time to do what I want to do for a change...

I left full-time employment with the University of Plymouth in July 2009, though I will maintain a close association with the University as a Visiting Fellow.  I am looking to develop a mixed portfolio of activity, building on my current academic and consultancy work.  You will find more details by clicking on the tabs above, or you can download a complete CV by clicking here.

 Things I enjoy and am good at:

  • Researching, writing and teaching about rural issues, with particular reference to ICT, farm and business management, social and economic development;
  • Running training activities, purpose-designed; participative, imaginative;
  • Designing and implementing programmes of learning at higher education level;
  • Designing and implementing research projects in business and social science;
  • Exploring ways of crossing discipline boundaries - for instance between the arts and the sciences;
  • Organising events - conferences, lectures, concerts...
  • Directing a specialist early music choir.
